23:40, winter 1934. Iris, the railway company’s archivist, slips you a ticket with no destination. “Someone has erased a station. The last train that can still stop there leaves tonight.” Find her place on board.
Compartment 47 appears to have been occupied by two people at the same time. A half-open suitcase, a watch and two passenger lists await your examination. Iris leaves you to continue while she looks for the guard.
In the empty dining car, the tables have been cleared too quickly. Samuel, the guard, kept the seating plan: it lets you reconstruct who met whom that evening.
In the luggage van, collection pieces sit alongside archives. A consignment note turns passenger revenue into freight charges. Identify the trunk someone wanted taken off the train unnoticed.
The travelling library holds two editions of the atlas. A branch line is missing from the newer one. In the older edition, Iris’s notes still point the way to the archives.
Beneath the frosted glass roof, Clémence’s plants are travelling towards the valley. The dispatch notebook corroborates the revenue the company claims does not exist.
The mail carriage has not yet handed over its final dispatch. Elsa, the train’s engineer, kept the acknowledgement of an instruction that differs from the one displayed in Dorian’s office.
Examine the records desk while the train is stopped for a service check. Elsa handles the train; you compare only timetables, access records and copies of orders. The genuine file must reach the stationmaster.
The train stops beneath a forgotten glass roof. The stationmaster awaits the documents proving that his station still exists. Assemble a complete file before the company meeting.
